We had the pleasure of being part of Alayna + Jarrod’s wedding. Held in the beautiful coastal town of Raglan and I spent about two hours before the ceremony with the guys while they got ready. This was one of the last shots taken before we left for the ceremony. Jarrod and his groomsmen were playing around with their canes in front of the garage doors and I asked if they could come up with a pose they’d like to be photographed in. They quickly confered and this is the result.
I love the simplicity of this image – the way the garage door creates a frame and the bright colour makes them stand out. You don’t have to have an epic landscape or background to make a photo interesting so we’re constantly on the hunt for different backdrops we can use. It’s great when everybody embraces having their photo taken because it makes for a better experience for all.
