BEAUTY IN THE UNCONVENTIONAL

There’s something beautiful about the way flowers decay.

Finding beauty in things that on the surface seem ‘ugly’ or are unconventional is a passion of mine so I always hold onto bouquets a bit longer than I should to photograph them once they’ve withered and died.

WEDDING // ALISHA + SAM: AUCKLAND, NZ

Alisha + Sam danced down the aisle. You can tell that this gorgeous couple were pretty happy to get married yesterday!

We were equally as happy to capture their wedding: a stunning day (thank you May for bringing us the sunshine), beautiful people and a ceremony that brought many happy tears, we’re felt very lucky to have been able to be part of their celebrations. Congratulations Alisha + Sam! xx

A PHOTO A DAY

“Doing a 365 photo project would be a fantastic idea!”

So I think made it to about 300 days before I forgot to keep taking them. I blame lack of time but really that’s no excuse when all I needed to do was take one photo of anything each day. But here’s the first 2oo+ all lined up and making me think perhaps I should do it all again? But do it better and be much more creative this time.

I did get to know my little garden more intimately. I don’t think there’s a spot I didn’t photograph!

HOT/COLD: APRIL

April has been epic. Not only have we been kept busy with work, but we managed to find a spare weekend to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary with family and friends by renewing our vows. We had the best day ever! So many things to be thankful for this month, we’re still on cloud 9.

* Our wedding celebrations!! I wish we could go back and then slow down time to take it all in again.

* Spending lots of time with our overseas family and friends. We became tourists again as explored the sights all over the city with people.

* Having the best wedding couples, past, present and future!

* End of year accounts. Groan. The printer, stapler and highlighter got a real workout this week.

* The washing machine took early retirement after this months washing-fest.

* Somebody, who shall remain anonymous, pinched our special gold dinosaur at our celebrations. We hope he’s being treated well.
